Enticing Player Exploration

Pushing boundaries, finding secrets, and wandering off of the beaten track create some of our fondest game memories. As game designers, how can we encourage the player to truly play, in the deepest sense of the word? A panel of designers from across the industry will compare and debate the best techniques, tricks, and experiences for making more players comfortable looking beyond pop-ups and quest markers and leaving their mark on the game-world.
